Exness Demo Account
Run the whole order sequence on a practice account first: add a symbol, size the position, send it, manage it, close it - with no verification needed and no money involved.
Open Exness Account →A demo rehearsal is the step that costs nothing and catches the most mistakes. Open a practice account from the Personal Area, set the virtual balance, connect it in the platform exactly as a live account is connected, then run the full order sequence - size, send, manage, close - before real money is involved. No verification is needed to open one.
What the rehearsal is for
A demo proves the mechanics - where the volume field is, what a stop-loss does, how a close is reported. It does not prove cost, because live spreads move with the market.
- Open a demo from the Personal Area without waiting for identity verification to finish.
- Set the virtual balance to the amount the live account will actually hold, not to the default.
- Connect it in the platform exactly as a live account is connected: account number, its own password, the demo server.
- Practise the awkward screens on purpose - an order that is too large, a position held through the rollover, a close at a loss.
- Rehearse the same sequence at the hour you would really trade, because spread and movement differ by hour.
- Practise on the tier the live account will use: all five - Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero - are available.
When the rehearsal is finished
When you are ready, see how to open a live Exness account and explore the trading app.
Open a Demo or Live Account →What a demo rehearsal proves, and what it does not
It proves the mechanics: where the volume field is, how a pending order is placed, what a stop-loss does to a position, how the platform reports a close. It proves the setup too - whether the right symbols are in the watchlist, whether the chart template is the one you want, whether the platform runs on the machine at all.
It does not prove cost or fill behaviour. Live spreads move with the market and widen around news and the daily rollover, and the swap that applies overnight is read from the live symbol specification. Treat the rehearsal as a test of your own hands, and read the measured spread and swap pages for what the conditions look like.
Making the rehearsal look like the real thing
Set the virtual balance to the amount actually planned for the live account rather than leaving it at the default. A $10,000 rehearsal teaches nothing about position sizing if the live account will hold a fraction of that, because the same lot size means a completely different share of the margin.
Practise the awkward moments on purpose: send an order that is too large and read the message, hold a position through the daily rollover, close a position at a loss and watch what the balance does. Those are the screens that are unpleasant to meet for the first time with real money on the line.
The rehearsal, in order
- Open a demo account in the Personal Area. No identity check is needed for this step, so it can be done before verification finishes.
- Pick the tier the rehearsal should imitate: all five live types - Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero - can be practised on.
- Set the balance. A demo starts with $10,000 in virtual funds, and the figure can be changed at any time via Set Balance in the Personal Area or the app.
- Connect it in the platform with its own account number and trading password, on the demo server, exactly the way a live account is connected.
- Run the sequence end to end: add a symbol, read its specification, size the order, send it, attach a stop-loss and a take-profit, then close it.
- Repeat the same sequence at the hour you would really trade, because spread and movement are not the same at every hour of the day.
- Move to live only when the sequence is boring. Everything except the money behaves the same way on the live account.
A demo can go inactive after a long period without use. Opening a new one takes the same few steps.
Rehearsal checklist before going live
| Check | How to run it on the demo | Ready when |
|---|---|---|
| Platform connects | Log in with the demo account number and its own password | Charts load and the account number matches the header |
| Symbol is findable | Add the instrument from the full symbol tree | It sits in Market Watch with its specification readable |
| Order sizes correctly | Enter the volume, read the required margin in the order window | The margin figure matches the one you worked out beforehand |
| Stops behave | Attach a stop-loss and a take-profit, then move them | Both levels show on the chart and update the position |
| Close works | Close a position in profit and one at a loss | Balance changes the way the position said it would |
Up to 100 MT4 and 100 MT5 demo accounts per profile, 200 in total, so several tiers can be rehearsed side by side.
Questions that come up mid-way
Does a demo have to wait for verification?
How much virtual money does the rehearsal start with?
Which account tier should the demo copy?
When is the rehearsal finished?
